Diane says, “One of my first purchases after beginning my nursing career was a sewing machine and serger. I started out with scrub tops but my interests changed when I attended a corset class taught by Beverly Johnson at the Saskatchewan Stitches Conference. Bra-making classes, professional level classes in fitting, swimwear, corsetry, and bra-making teacher training followed. I know that creating your very own well-fitting bra is so rewarding. A talented seamstress for a mother, a love of vintage fashion, and years of ballet training set the stage for Diane’s initial sewing pursuits. She now amalgamates her science education with her healthcare background and life experiences bringing her individual approach to creating garments and sewing instruction.
Diane has over a decade of experience in various Chinese martial arts including Wushu/KungFu, kickboxing, and Chen-style Taichi. Recently, she has taken on the role of substitute Taichi instructor and assists new students in the class. However, Diane’s “happy place” remains sewing in her home studio while listening to techno.
