Six Support Options — One Powerful Class

London is the first in a series of master bra-making classes in bra-making by Beverly Johnson.  Each of 5 fashion cities (London, Paris, Milan, Toyko and Manhattan) will focus on a particular set of skills. In the case of London, the first city, there are 6 views created that are all about support.  You will learn to create bras from the included class pattern that not only rival the finest you would see in London, but that include advanced support elements, such as:

• the six types of support elements, what they do and why they work
• how to draft each element in various ways to maximize support
• how to draft both internal and external supports and when to use each
• how to draft a collar for both nursing and sports
• how to draft prosthesis pockets for any shape of breast form
• a bonus lesson on how to create a foam lining for any bra pattern

As part of the London class, you will also learn advanced construction techniques, including:

• sew a Gothic Arch in the centre front of your bra
• applying fold-over elastic to the edges of fabric
• enclose the shoulder strap seam with a unique strap wrap
• sew an internal power bar that is your invisible means of support
• make a decorative external power bar that is anything but plain
• learn to line any of your Views of London with foam
• construct an internal collar and nursing clips step-by-step
• custom make your own breast prosthesis so you never have to buy one again

The Views of London

Each view of London is designed to take you a step forward in your bra-making journey. Every View of London includes a regular band and a Gothic Arch centre front. These two fronts are interchangeable within all the London views, but also with the bands from the Paris class, which means your bra pattern library has essentially just doubled in size. This mastery course includes hours of instructional video covering all London views with their support elements and construction, all taught by the Fairy Bra Mother herself, as well as printable instructions for you to refer to as you learn.  This master class in support will soon have you wishing you could show off your bras to everyone you meet! 

• ALDGATE– the most “basic” bra, but with a Gothic Arch and a unique strap wrap technique that hides those raw edges
• BELGRAVIA– has an internal power bar made of sheer and uses either a regular arch or Gothic Arch front
• CHELSEA– uses an external power bar to liven things up, all while making you “face forward”
• DALSTON– incorporates  either an internal or external sling to manage two directions of support
• ENFIELD– uses either internal or external collars for nursing, or for holding power for sports
• FARRINGDON– internal pockets in two styles to hold any prosthesis in place. There’s a bonus lesson on how to make your own custom breast form

What’s included with the London class?

As part of the London class, you receive a complete pattern set in a size range from 3.0 BCD through 6.5 BCD. Best of all, you won’t have to wait for shipping! Yes, these patterns are now in .pdf format, so you can print them at home – no special printer needed (you can print on either letter size or A4 paper). Most pattern pieces use one sheet of paper with only the largest sizes using more than one. You won’t have to spend hours taping patterns together. Just print and start cutting. Don’t have a printer? Don’t worry – we also include a full-size pattern for each size so you can take it to the copy shop or upload the file to a projector to avoid using paper altogether.

The class includes printable instructions for all six views of London and their support options, all illustrated as you know Beverly is known for. That’s not all – you also get over 4 hours of video lessons, all taught by the Fairy Bra Mother herself. Unlimited watching of video instruction not geared only to construction, but also drafting and using all the support options.

Last, but certainly not least, as part of every class, you are invited to join Beverly’s private Facebook group, whose members include students of her classes, her Certified Instructors, and fitting experts from around the world. It’s a great community support group, to share your triumphs and get advice for any challenges you may face.

As you can see, the London bra focuses on support, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish! We’ve made our London bras out of all-over lace, sheer cup lining, wickable fabrics with a sheer cup lining overlay, and even with a foam-lined Liberty Tana lawn. We’ve even used quilting cottons! Of course you can use duoplex or other low-stretch fabrics, but you definitely have multiple fabric choices.

As part of every class, you are invited to join Beverly’s private Facebook group, whose members include students of her classes, her Certified Instructors, and fitting experts from around the world. It’s a great community support group, to share your triumphs and get advice for any challenges you may face. Just agree to the group rules about privacy and bullying and you can join.

Over 4 hours of video instruction are not geared only to construction of the support elements; they are a master class in bra engineering where you will learn to tackle support issues from the band up!

Once you purchase London, you should get an email with your order summary with some important links in it. If you do not get an email, please check your SPAM folder as your server may not recognize us as a legitimate email (we are, we promise!).  The following links are there:  how to print London pattern Files (also here below this text), All Views of London Instructions, and the YouTube link to the London Class. The London pattern files are NOT in the email. In order to access the pattern files, you must go into your account and the files will be there. If you did NOT set up an account, simply use the same email address you used during check-out to register and log in. If you forgot your password, please request a password reset. When you get in to your account you will see the three pattern files there: the Pattern Pages, the Large format files and the Projector Files.  Please download them and store the files in a secure place on your computer, as you are limited to THREE downloads.
