With a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and over 20 years of experience in New York’s Fashion Industry, Barbara Beyun turned her eyes to bra making in 2018 and hasn’t looked back.
Working on the design teams for such notable companies as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Jones New York, Barbara has always appreciated exquisite workmanship, old school techniques, and expressive design details. Finding out that bras could be made at home, that making your own bra, customized for fit and aesthetics down to the smallest detail was a revelation she continues to be endlessly fascinated by.
Drawing on her patternmaking skills and honed over years of perfecting her own fit, Barbara now turns her attention to helping others achieve freedom from the misery of bra shopping. Teaching a complete curriculum of lingerie classes, from intro level panty making for teens to the Wedding Night Trousseau for brides, the centerpieces of this lineup are the incredible modular underwired bras designed by Beverly Johnson. These bras, combined with design exercises in combining colors, fabrics, and treatments, will teach students to make an endless supply of beautifully fitting, gorgeous lingerie with which to fill their top drawers.
When she isn’t teaching, Barbara is creating luxury bespoke bras for custom clients in Monmouth County, NJ, under the label 2 Peas Designworks.
