As a bra designer and educator, I’ve heard these comments countless times, and each one offers an opportunity to learn something that can completely transform the way your bras fit and feel.

If you’ve never been professionally fitted – or haven’t been fitted in years – how do you really know?
Many women simply reach for the size they’ve always bought, try on a couple that “look about right,” choose the least uncomfortable option, and head for the checkout.
Unfortunately, that’s one of the biggest bra fitting mistakes there is.
Most women buy a band that’s too large and cups that are too small. Instead of wearing a 34D, they leave with a 36C or even a 38B.
Here’s why that’s a problem.
The band provides about 80% of your bra’s support. If it’s too loose, it rides up your back, the cups begin to droop, and before long everything is sitting lower than you’d like.
Nobody dreams of droopy boobs.
A properly fitted band should feel comfortably snug, allowing the cups to stay exactly where they’re designed to be. And once the band fits correctly, it’s amazing how often women discover they actually need a larger cup than they expected.
This one breaks my heart.
Imagine walking into a store or the fitting room ready to spend money, only to discover they don’t stock your size.
Women with larger cup sizes experience this far too often.
Many retailers still focus on what they consider their “core” sizes because they’re easier to stock and sell. The result? Thousands of women settle for bras that don’t really fit because that’s all that’s available.
The reality is that today’s average bra size is much larger than many retailers still assume.
Every body deserves beautiful, supportive lingerie – not just a limited selection of sizes.
Never settle simply because the right size isn’t hanging on the rack.
I know.
They often are.
Tiny bras seem to get all the pretty colours, delicate lace and playful details.
But no amount of cuteness can magically make a bra fit.

Here’s a little secret.
A properly fitted bra doesn’t make you look bigger.
It makes you look more balanced.
When breasts are fully supported and positioned correctly, your waist becomes more defined, your posture improves, your clothing hangs better, and many women actually appear slimmer.
Trying to squeeze into cups that are too small doesn’t minimize your bust – it simply creates bulges, discomfort and an unflattering silhouette.
