Have you ever wondered what would happen to your bra pattern if you moved the strap? Or changed the DoGS? Maybe you have thought about a changing the style but were afraid it wouldn’t give the same support? And what IS all the fuss about different wire shapes, anyway? If these are questions you have asked but were reluctant to “waste” fabric and time doing experiments to find the answers, this class is for you! Beverly is teaching 5 days of Bra Engineering in New Brunswick, with a limited number of spaces in this brand new Master class.
You will learn to make a fitting band in order to test new styles of cups without having to make the bra from scratch. What a time and resource saver! Next, you will learn to audition new style on an actual 3-D drafted version of your cup so you can see what the finished cup will look like.
See different strap positions and what each one does and, importantly, how each affects the cup (good or bad) Some provide a push-up effect, others affect the dreaded underarm flab, and some are guaranteed to never fall off your shoulders. Bridge modifications certainly do not seem like a big deal, but you too can be a bra engineer and control some basic elements of the bra by a few teaks to this integral piece of your pattern.
Bra Engineering includes modifications to the band , too. Have you wanted to make a dress with a low back, or NO back? You will learn how to do it here. In addition, you can also make a longline bra from what you will learn in this class. Please note, boned or strapless bras, Merry Widows are taught in an upcoming Cupped & Boned Foundations class.
It is tricky to convert a bra pattern into a partial band, or use an in-turn channel to make your full band and partial band cups interchangeable! You’ll also learn to make a dropped bridge, or a peekaboo bridge – on a full band bra! Sound impossible? It’s not when you know the tricks!
Cup modifications are next, and learning how to make differently seamed cups are easy-peasey when you know how. Want to get maximum lift, or make a sexy shelf bra, or a push-up bra? You can do it! Even different styles of bra, such as a Bralette, an Integrated Bridge bra or a Bullet Bra is not off the table here. What about power bars and slings? It’s all here in this class, Bra Engineering.
Use your own bra pattern or choose someone else’s to use in the class, and start saving inspiration photos to bring to the class.
