Men’s underwear has not been given much attention in the sewing world—until now! The first Pin-up Girls ‘ Men’s Underwear Pattern uses both classic American and modern European styling in its design.
Lillebror features a solid fabric back with forward side seams and a shapely front, while Michael has the detailing in the back seam and a traditional front panel. Both views feature over-the-top access and an optional support sling—inspired by very expensive ready-to-wear. The leg length can be used as is or shortened to your own preferred length.
Both pattern views are quick to sew, using only a wide elastic for the waist and .5 metres of fabric. Use Cotton Jersey, Interlock, Modal, Bamboo, Microfibre Knits, or even Performance Fabrics. The man who wears these will be amazed at how comfortable and supportive underwear can feel! Waist sizes 30-44″ (76-111 cm) are included in the pattern.
Men’s underwear style Michael features classic American underwear features, with a curved front panel and shapely back panel, and back seaming. However, Michael has one important difference – Inside the front panel includes an optional support sling to keep the parts separated and prevent chafing. In addition, it has the preferred over-the-top access. Our customers who prefer front access tell us that this pattern easily adapts.
Lillebror also features over-the-top access but features a European-style front with a shaped front Y-panel. This shaped front can be made from contrasting fabric or colours. The forward side seam is a fashion detail. This pattern has no seams across the back. The Lillebror view also features the optional support sling inside the front panel to keep the parts separated and prevent chafing.
.5 m of knit fabric with at least 50% stretch in the crosswise grain, such as cotton/spandex, nylon/spandex, or polyester/spandex blends
1.5 m of 1.5″- 2″ (37-52 mm) wide elastic for the waist. Our wide plush elastic EB-137.98 is the perfect choice.
